Develop and validate a scalable economic model using digital technologies right from the time when they were available.
In 2012 my phone before starting Android development could only send SMS and had no internet connection. I started with Mobile Development when internet plans were expensive, phones small and Android was running Honeycomb (v.3.0). My first App was backwards compatible with Froyo (2.2) and Gingerbread (2.3).
Curiosity brought me to develop a long time dreamt product to help people stop snoring. Java, Android know-how and tools, digital signal processing and invention to develop an App with an algorithm to detect the sound of snoring. Lots were the problems faced and solved. Long were nights.
That was the time when the Startups started to florish. New and more resources for developers were made available and all possibilities were at your finger tips.
SnoreWare was sponsored with the Google Startup Pack in 2014 worth $20.000 in Google cloud, free trainings and contact to Google consultants. This was of course a pump of motivation but also of resources. The money was used to prototype the backend of SnoreWare, using an AppEngine on the Google Cloud Platform and also to afford one of the expensive support plans that Google had available at that time. With this, my development and configuration questions could be escalated and got answers directly from the engineers developing the platform. It was also an excellent source of knowledge.
SnoreWare was one of 13 startups selected by Google and participated in Berlin in the Google Launchpad, a program that was taking place twice a year for one week with Google selected startups.
During those five days, with already a working Minimum Viable Prototype five different aspects of the business and the solution were analysed. Our team discussed aspects related to technology, User experience, Monetization, Funding and pitch with consultants coming from the organisation.
I am from Barcelona but I lived in Berlin from 2008 to 2016 where I mingled in the Startup Scene.
